I'm Rabbi Marge Wise, also known as the Journey Rabbi.
Thank you for visiting! I'm a full-service rabbi with a specialty in teaching prospective Jews by choice. My conversion candidates span 5 continents so geography is never a problem!
Why did I make conversion to Judaism my niche as a Rabbi? I believe that there are many people who possess a passion for Judaism but don’t know where to begin. I think of myself as a rabbi who will help you turn your passion into reality.
Here is a little bit about me and my passion for Judaism: I received my Rabbinic ordination from the Academy for Jewish Religion (AJR) in Yonkers, New York in May 2021. Prior to my ordination, I was the Rabbinic Intern at Congregation Agudath Israel (CAI) in Caldwell, New Jersey. I’ve taught adult education classes at CAI and at other synagogues in conversational Hebrew, Jewish Philosophers and Thinkers, the Book of Proverbs and the Writings of Rabbi Harold Kushner, Herman Wouk, and many others. I’m currently teaching two classes: "Contemporary Jewish Personalities" and "Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Judaism."
I’m devoting a large part of my rabbinate to doing Keruv – ongoing outreach - in particular to those born into another faith who are seeking to embrace Judaism as Jews by choice, through the process of conversion. I would also welcome the opportunity to serve as a pulpit rabbi to further my full-service rabbi mission and to be able to extend my outreach to all seekers.
I believe that we are all on a Jewish journey – I would love to help you navigate yours. As a rabbi, I would feel privileged to be a part of that sacred journey space in your lives – I would be honored to accompany you on your journey to embracing Judaism.
